Railway Protection Force (RPF) along with Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) conducts recruitment for posts like Constable (Executive) and Sub Inspector (Executive). The recruitment is conducted through online application process and the latest notification (for example CEN RPF 01/2024 and CEN RPF 02/2024) states the vacancies, eligibility criteria, selection stages and dates.

For Constable (Executive): Generally 10th (Matric) passed from a recognized board.

Here is the detailed procedure to apply online:

Step 1: Visit the official website

Visit the official RPF recruitment website (for example: rpf.Indianrailways.gov.in) or specified portal (rrbapply.gov.in) for recruitment. 

Step 2: Read the Notification

Download and read the detailed notification carefully. Understand the eligibility, physical standards, exam pattern, selection process, important dates, fees etc. of the post you are applying for.

Step 3: Registration

Register yourself on the portal. You have to fill the basic details like name, father name, date of birth, mobile number, email id etc. On successful registration you will get a registration ID/password.

Step 4: Log in and fill the application form

Use your credentials to log in and fill the application form. Fill personal details (name, date of birth), category, gender, contact details; Educational qualification; Selection of Post (Constable/SI); Zone/Railway Priority; Examination Centre; language etc

Step 5: Upload Documents

Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature (and in some cases caste certificate, ex-serviceman certificate, etc.) in the specified format (size, type) given in the notification. For example: Photo in 15-40 KB JPG/JPEG.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

Pay the fee online through Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking or other specified modes. Make sure you make the payment before the deadline, otherwise your application will be rejected. 

Step 7: Submit and print the application

Review all details carefully. Once submitted, download/print a copy of the completed application form for your records. Double check that everything is correct and that you have the registration number.

Many cycles have a modification window where you can modify certain areas of your application (usually limited areas) by paying a modification fee. Example: 15-24 May 2024 for RPF 2024 Recruitment.

Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective type questions on General Awareness, Arithmetic, Reasoning and Intelligence. For Constable, difficulty approx. 10th level; SI for graduate level. 

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Measurement Test (PMT): For those who qualify CBT. Qualified by nature.

Document Verification (DV): Verification of educational certificates, caste, identity, medical fitness.

Final Merit List and Appointment: Based on performance in the above stages, zone/railway preference, category.

Apply well before the last date – the portal may become slow closer to the deadline.

Keep the scanned photo and signature ready in the correct format; Make sure the name and date of birth match the school certificates.
