Cut-Off Marks and What They Mean

After the result, at the same time or soon after, OICL releases the cut-off marks for Prelims. These define the minimum marks required to qualify for the next stage.

Overall UR (Unreserved) Category: ~75 - 80 Marks 

SC Category: ~70 – 74 marks

What's next: Mains and final selection

 If your roll number appears in the shortlisted list, then congratulations! You are eligible to appear for the Main (Tier II) examination, which is scheduled on 28 October 2025.

 After Mains, there is a regional language test (qualifying in nature) and then final document verification.

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in Tier II along with qualifying language test (and possibly weightage given to Tier I marks). The candidature of any candidate who does not appear at any stage will be cancelled.

 Even if you qualify Prelims, your performance in Mains becomes more important. Don't relax!
